Best Brains Academy was started by Luther and Christine Tarpeh as a Primary School in 2012 with 70 students from Kindergarten to Grade 8 and has since grown to 750 students from Kindergarten to Grade 12. BBA has ranked in the top five schools in Liberia for the past three years and was even awarded a Certificate of Excellent Performance in the National Test by The President of Liberia.

The school has no external financial support and a nominal amount of money is collected for 50% of the students whose parents can afford to pay. This is used to pay the small salaries of teachers as well as to fund the remaining 50% of students whose families are too poor to pay for education.

The school has received three one-off donations of up to $5000 from overseas visitors to help build more classrooms, purchase general school supplies and a generator to provide a few hours of electricity each day.

Everyday several young people come on campus begging to enrol in the school but unfortunately BBA is at capacity, physically and financially.
